Open to reasonable offers if you are interested. By the way the pickups were replaced with a set of Kinmans I had. Sadly, the guitar was sold a few years back due to the purchase of a Custom Shop Hank Marvin Strat. Seemed pointless keeping the Squier at the time. A decision I now regret. Such is life.

Hi Thankyou for your offer concerning squier marvin pickups, bridge. Could you let me know how much you want for them as i would be interested in buying them if the price is right. Thanks again.

I have sent you a Private Message. I'd rather any further discussions were carried out in that way. Cheers.

I had a Squier Marvin for a short while back in 1992 and the only thing I liked about it was the feel of the neck. I had intonation problems with the low E, the saddle was screwed back as far as it would go and the note was still too high on the 12th fret. the pickup switch also got faulty after only a few weeks.
I kept it for about 6 months as a stand-by and then traded it in for a USA Standard Telecaster which I still have.

I sent you a message yesterday Jeffrey but I have not had any reply, so I can only assume you are no longer interest in buying the Squier pickups or other bits and pieces so I reckon they will go on eBay. A simple "no thank you" would have been nice though.

Paul..............Oh deary, deary me! You'll be in for some flak, for crticising the quality of something with HBM on the headstock! In some quarters,it just isn't conceivable that there would be anything at all wrong with one of those!! Are you sure that it wasn't your ears that were at fault regarding the intonation and not a mis-aligned bridge? Similarly, perhaps you were too heavy handed with the pickup selector? After all, apparently Hank hardly ever changes between pickups, so he wouldn't need a sturdy one! Seriously though, I did the same with mine and also swapped the rather cheap, enclosed oriental 5-way for a decent USA one. When I took my guitar into the workshop of one of the UK's best known repairer's to have the switch changed, he ran his hand along the edges of the finger board and rather sarcastically remarked, "Oh. Hank likes his fret-ends nice & sharp too, does he?" (!!) I'd take cover now if I was you...................I'll leave space for you in my bunker!

Stephen.

The guitar may have had HBM on the headstock but it also had Squier and not Fender (Made in USA) on there.
At the same time I had a sunburst USA Standard Strat and everyone used to say at gigs how much better sounding it was than the HBM Squier.

this thread started out with someone asking a simple question about what pickups were in a squier hank marvin guitar. down hill after that :o the guitar then gets a slaging from a member here. he didnt ask what a pile of junk he owned. i then say that the squier i own is one of the best sounding strats i have owned. not how good in genral this model was, just the one i own. i never critersized anyones comments in any way. i have owned a nos fender stratocaster and a very good guitar it was as well not outstanding just very good. i have owned a lot of top end guitars fenders gibson all good guitars. i have owned a couple real dogs as well top end models. so even the fact that i`m not a great or even good player doesent stop me knowing when i get a really nice sounding guitar in my hands with or without any signiter on the headstock. the point i was making was that guitars do differ from one to another even from the same run. i dont really care if its a custom job or a squier, maybe i will pick up another one and agree with these views. i dont care if hank marvin likes it or not. i was passing a view on a single guitar that i own and would like to do that with out having the piss taken out of that view. feel free to disagree thats what these sites are all about. and while i`m here stephen thanks for the kind gesture of tuners for free very kind of you. maybe i can return the favour one day :D
