Hi Dave,

No, The Journey website hasn't been removed and there are no plans to do so. In fact, we updated it yesterday with a little more info. We're trying to update it bit by bit as and when time permits. Maybe there was a temporary problem with the server. Please try again later and let me know if you still have problems.

Best wishes
Audrey

Hi Audrey

Many thanks for your reply. I've had to do a web search and then re-enter as a favourite to restore the link, everythings fine now.

Once again many thanks for the updates

As Audrey says.......the site is fine. Go to 'Latest News' and follow the link. Otherwise it's here: http://www.jetharris.biz/jetharrismemorialfund.htm

I was able to give the Jet Harris Memorial Fund / Cancer Research a 'plug' on Radio Caroline last night on Dell Richardson's "Good Rockin' Tonight" show. Did you all know that "Man With The Golden Arm" was technically banned by the BBC? The problem was that the Otto Preminger film (starring Frank Sinatra) and everything connected with it (including orchestral theme music!!!) had been banned by the BBC way back in 1955. In 1962 the ban was still in force. The BBC hierarchy relented because Jet was a former Shadow (as well as being clearly popular in his own right) and Cliff & The Shads were definitely the 'darlings' of the Beeb at the time. Thus the ban was lifted to allow Jet's version to be played and broadcast. Hmmm....even after nearly 50 years there's always 'new' old information eh??

Hi Rob

I heard most of the Good Rockin' Tonight show last night and enjoyed your input, very amusing and interesting.
Those old records always sound so good on radio.

Well done Robster and good to see you and Di on Monday.

Glad you enjoyed it Tony. The Shads were never banned by the Beeb. There was one Cliff track which was banned. I can't remember the title. It would have probably been a 1959 recording & the ban was because the word Cadillac was in the song. Someone on here will know the title i'm sure!

HI Rob
I think the cliff song that was banned was "high class baby " something to with advertising laws at the time.

There was also, of course, the song that Cliff banned himself...

Thanks everyone - the thread seems to be accidentally going off topic!! Oh well...we'll get there!! "High Class Baby" could well have been the song concerned. I was only covering the period 1954 - 1963. Phones 4 Us!!?? Pah! Disgraceful attitude. Glad some of you enjoyed "G R Tonight" & heard the appeal too. I think that my favourite (& completely true) story was the furore surrounding Don Cornell - who really did appeal to the then Archbishop of Canterbury (receiving a very 'stiff' and stuffy reply) in order to try and overturn a ban by the BBC's Head of Religious Broadcasting!!!
