Hi All.

Does anybody know who The Apaches are anyway?
Are they well known musicians?

Best regards
René ;)

I believe Jean Pierre Danel is The Apaches.

Look carefully at this link : http://www.jeanpierredanel.com/presse.php

Chris

JP Danel did, indeed, record a CD of Shads covers under the name 'The Apaches' (and when I bought my copy, the assistant helpfully pointed out that it wasn't the real Shadows...).

However, it is not the same CD as the 'Red River rock' Apaches aka Shades of Gray. This CD also has an original track Blue Shadow (not the Shads track Blue Shadows) so that and the presence of RRR make it easy to spot. It has been issued on several different labels over the years.

...although the CD cover is slightly different to my copy, e.g. my copy has Theme From The Deer Hunter (Cavatina), whereas the website CD just has Cavatina...

Sounds like you have all been conned for years buying cheap imitations doing The Shadows out of their album royalties
I am off to see a live tribute act called The Fabulous Shadows at Worthing Pavilion next Saturday, I hope they do not sell CDs

Curley

I was well aware of what I was buying when I purchased The Apaches CDs, and I'm sure most of the other purchasers on the site were likewise.
