It is with the deepest regret that I have to tell you that Stephen died this morning following a massive stroke.
I am in total shock as I saw him and played some great music with him last Sunday at the Warwick club.
I have known Stephen for many years and in that time he has become a true friend, he will be missed by Angela and myself.
I am sure you will join me in passing on your comments to Mary at this very sad time.

Rest in Peace my friend

Terrible news, absolute gentleman, only last week he emailed me telling me how much he was looking forward to shadowmania. RIP Stephen may you play Wonderful land on the stairs to heaven.

This is terribly sad news and I am shocked.
Stephen was one of the nicest people you could hope to meet.
He was always smiling and had a kind word for everyone.
My thoughts are with Mary at this sad time.
RIP my friend

Shocking news. I was privileged to play a couple of numbers with him just last Thursday. Stephen will be sadly missed.

Although Stephen was not known to us, it is another sad loss to this community 'family'.

Our sympathy and condolences to Stephen's family and friends from the members of the Sussex Shadows Club.

I am so shocked to read of the sad loss of Stephen. I was only talking with him last Thursday at the meeting of The Thames Valley Guitar Club in Cookham. As usual he was always willing to share his enormous experience & knowledge of playing.

Stephen will be sadly missed by us all.

I. too, was deeply shocked and saddened to hear this tragic news at Watford last night. Stephen was a true gentleman: quiet and unassuming but friendly and knowledgeable and a top class lead and rhythm guitarist. The news seems unbelievable as I was chatting to him and admiring his new Olympic White Strat only last Thursday.

Stephen and his talent will be greatly missed at Shadows clubs in the Home Counties.

RIP Stephen.
