To answer Brian's question, apart from the fact that I don't yet have a Hi Def camcorder with good sound recording ability (only a multi megapixel stills camera that takes HD video that is great for holidays) I didn't get a table I could video from this year as I was on holiday (no internet even) when Bruce both announced Shadowmania was on, and still away until after the tickets went on sale. So I had a year off :)

As last year Phil's videos were great quality, and I know how much he would have had to concentrate on the screen rather than just enjoying the music, so I add my thanks to him for these videos.

Thanks Mark,Didier, Steve, Rosemary, Stuart, Brian & Gillian .
Great to hear from you all.
As Didier pointed out you can download the Videos from Youtube which then saves the dreaded streaming
problem that Rosemary is having. I used to use Realplayer but I think YouTube have stopped that working.
There's lots of free programs around that will do this - Clip Extractor works fine for me.
I've added Playlists for each band in the order they were played - If you go to my channel and click on "Playlists"
at the top you should see them. I'm having problems with Warren's playlist - created it but it's not appearing for some reason. :?
Please Could someone post the names of the band players for The Foot Tappers, The Runaways, Warren's Guitarist - Mitch?, The Rapiers, (I know Colin), Neil? John?
So I can add them to the video's.
Many thanks.. Phil

Phil,
I spent all last evening viewing your You Tube posts of Shadowmania.
Thank you for sharing your videos - it certainly gives those of us living in
the colonies, an opportunity to enjoy what was obviously a superb event.
Cheers,
JB

Realplayer still works for me for downloads from YouTube, but my 'video' computer is still using XP. Not sure if it works with windows 7. Sometime last year I think I installed 'Silverlight' on the video computer as Microsoft kept asking me to, but immediately afterwards RealPlayer downloads stopped and I uninstalled it, realplayer started downloading again. Might be a coincidence, but maybe not. Perhaps Windows 7 has this built in.

Phil, re digital zoom - given the quality of HD, a small amount of digital zoom is unlikely to be a problem, if you can limit the zoom multiplyer so you only use say a factor of 10/20 whatever, rather than it being open ended, that might be useful. My ordinary camcorder digital zoom is either on or off, and I always turn it off. It accentuates camera shake, even on a tripod, if you are moving around a scene.

It has been noticed at my video club that panning an HD camcorder results in what I'll call 'blurring' although it's not quite that. It has to do with the amount of data changing from one frame to the next and the compression needed to save to the relatively small file on the memory card. I can't express it that technically, but normally the camcorder only saves the whole frame for one in 10 (?) frames (I can't remember the actual number of frames) and in between just saves the changes from one frame to the next, which may only be a few pixels. However if you pan, the whole picture changes, and the camcorder can't take it all in at once, hence the degradation of the picture. If you can't avoid panning - and we can't - the slower the better.

I downloaded the videos using Download Helper with Firefox, but I had a problem with Tempatation 80 by The Runaways. While Temptation was played on Youtube, it was Going Home which was downloaded !
I don't know if this bug came from Youtube or Download Helper, I had to user Replay Media Catcher to download it right.
I downloaded all the videos in 720p.
