When's the next meeting after tomorrow Amanda? Any room for a drummer/another drummer? Or is it strictly guitarists and backing tracks and what not?
I might have to come along and have a gander one of these days... the only problem is that Sundays is generally 'hangover day' for me! :D
What about a keyboard player aswell? I'm sure he'd be up for it...
Failing all that I could come along and play rhythm guitar... I can play three chords (in any key)...
:)

Steve
I traipse 60 miles to be there and I wouldnt do that if it wasnt such an excellent meeting.
Sadly, I can't do the winter meetings cos of a night driving eyesight problem but I will be there tomorrow.
The first half, before the top nosh Buffet, is 3 tunes to BTs. The second part is 'Live'. Various "scratch" bands can be formed depending on who is there, who you know and who knows what. There have been various keyboardists ( :?: ) from time to time including Tony Kiek from Oz and I'm sure that he would be an asset for Wondergland, etc etc. Can't say if you'd get a paradiddle or not - try and see.
PS - Hangover? - I'm sure Joy or Elaine could provide some aspirin for emergency use!! :D
cheers

Steve,
I travel from St Neots for the same reason, its an excellent club.
Regarding drumming the house drummer is left handed, so I take my kit so right handed drummers can play and you are welcome to use it. Generally we find that there will be 2 or 3 drummers so based on the number of "live" tunes played the amount you can play will vary.
It is not a huge room so drumming is not thrashing or bashing but rather playing.
Hope you can make it in the future.

I have decided to attend for the first time to try things out. I shall bring my guitar but as I have never played it outside my house, in front of other people nor to a backing track then it is highly probable that I wont play it today- but I'll bring it and see how I feel! I don't want to ruin any classic tracks!

For some strange reason I feel a bit apprehensive about coming but I'm sure I will be made welcome and am looking forward to an enjoyable and friendly afternoon out.

Now to plot my route from Treacle Town (Nuneaton!!)

Well Natalie, I think you did alright!! :D (for a Leftie!! :o   )
Now you have broken your Duck, you can start to enjoy the experience of playing in front of "friends" - cos we all are. .
Get that MacCutheon bloke to let you play to the backing tracks as well as to the recording. :)
Looking forward to hearing you play again.
cheers
