I'm sorry, but a Marvin (or Legend in my case) has to be white - it's iconic.

I was shot down in flames in previous discussions, but I'll say it again - there is no historic precedant for a red Marvin/Legend or any of its derivatives!!!

Ducking down behind the parapet again.

Hi Guys,

I would have to say that I fall into the 'traditionalist' camp and favour the white Burns with the tortoiseshell pick guard. Here is a picture of mine.

Cheers,

I forgot to mention in my post that I have a lovely Greenburst Double Six, one of the less expensive ones, but it plays and sounds better than the 'proper' one that I had back in the early seventies, though that one was badged 'Baldwin. I agree about the fiesta red Shadows edition, it would have been cool to have it in red burst, I do like that !

What do you think? If Burns had continued in the 60s and the Shads had continued to use them - which seems likely - would they have produced a FR Marvin if the Shads had decided to change colour again?

Very nice Brian, although I was referring to the redburst that goes to black at the edges, similar to the old Vista Sonics. :)

I've never seen a Burns except Hank's green one from the audience at The Shadows and Sir Cliff concert but if I had to choose (just by appearance) it would be the white and gold one here.

Call me old fashion, but for me it's white and greenburst for the Burns..... maple neck rattle my cage either,so did the strat like neck-pocket....
I know I'm ol' muck
Although I love the greenburst on the 2004 Marvins, it's more the apple-green like the Baldwin guitars had.... but i bought British build one in greenburst just because it had the correct neck pocket....on the pic it's 1965-2004-1964 D6-2004-and 1980 Marvin,I have also a Marquee in Greenburst and a Marquee S in translucent green, but those are hanging on the other wall...
