Round(ing) the cape

Hi Guys,
Can anyone confirm if Hank or Shads ever recorded this tune and if so on which album/cd?

'No' is the short answer.

The full title is Rounding the Cape (A tribute to...) and I reckon it's one of the best pastiches of the Shadows.

The original recording is by the composers, Cees and Thomas Tol. It has been covered by Shadows-style bands including Local Heroes, though.

No Des - the Shads never did.
It was written by two brothers Cees and Thomas Tol (aka Tol & Tol) who recorded it as a tribute to their musical Heros The Shadows in 1990. The track itself was on one side, the actual BT being "given away" as the "B" side.

Hi Geoff

I think you will find that Dave Robinson has done a B/T CD called "Lead 6" with it on.

Leos Den have it listed.

The track is available as a 'one off' if the album isn't required - details on our website www.pastmastersmusic.co.uk 8-)

I've got three versions of Tol & Tol's original:
1. The album version (3:50) from the eponymously titled 1989 debut album;
2. The edited single version (2:50) from the 1990 hit single;
3. The 'orchestral' single version (3:50) from the aforementioned single, which features no lead guitar and can be used as backing track.
