Looks as if I may be able to get to my first Warwick club do in over a year!! Looking forward to seeing some good friends and playing some numbers in Eb without the aid of a capo or safety net!!

See ya!!

Seemed to have started something here!! After some years playing in dinner/dance bands playing lots of the jazz standards, I've used most of the fingerboard in playing some of those numbers! In fact, Eb on the guitar has a mellow tonality- listen to Johnny Smith's version of 'Moonlight in Vermont' and a magical quality comes off the instrument. Anyway, I've re-recorded the backing track to Apache in Bbm, just for the hell of it! (if you believe that, you'll believe anything!)
By the way do you know how to get Ab minor?..... drop a piano down a mineshaft.... (?!) ... I thank you & goodnight!
Incidentally, in 'Waiting for Rosie', the Shads change key from C major to Db major halfway through; in Bossa Roo, the bridge section Dm7-G7 etc changes to Ebm7-Ab7 midway i.e. Db- so flat keys are allowed!!

Ab minor ... that one should be in an Old Jokes Home!

You know what's going to happen on Sunday, Maurizio. We're going to throw a load of old faves in E or D at you and demand that you play them in Eb!!

Oh bother now I have to retune my drums, I had them all tuned in the key of C minor diminished twice removed and loosely related to my third cousin on my mothers side.
