No, I don't have a second one at the moment Didier, but I have another small Fender amp (transister) where I can try the various options before deciding if I need a second XD. ;)

Want to buy a used Valvetronix, Alan? I'm sure the bass player would carry it for you...

Following on from the various responses, I decided the way I'd progress the matter, the easiest being first and so on.

I bought a Ragin Cajun (hope that's how you spell it) speaker, fitted and tried it out on Saturday. I now link my effects, which are all small and easily handled, guitar > volume pedal > zoom PD-01 > yamaha magicstomp > gemini III > amp. I use the PD-01 as a sort of a clean signal boost and when played in a band setting (with drums), I had plenty of volume with some to spare.

It will easily cut through in the small/medium sized venues in which we play, so for £40 (delivered), I think I have a very portable rig which sounds good (to my ears anyway). The Fender Super Champ XD might not have the 'look', but it has a great (now better) sound.

I second that, Alan - sounded good.

If we persuade the bass man to get his Fender amp out of storage, that would complete the lineup...
