I'm only 37 and i sometimes get a little pain in my fingers on my left hand, sometimes it goes away but if i play the guitar for more than an hour it tends to stay. If i stop playing it goes away after a few hours. It probably doesn't help that i type at work a lot then play the guitar at home, i guess its just general wear and tear.
Over the last few months the pain has got more noticeable so i'm trying to limit my guitar playing to a few nights a week now.

That might be RSI. Worth getting your doctor to take a look, as the two conditions are managed differently.

Hi Iain,
12 years ago I had really painful arthritis in my right hand middle finger knuckle joint for about 6 months .
Someone suggested one of these :- http://www.magnetsforall.com/site/13465 ... 84-6092171
I bought one and in under 1 week the pain had gone completely. I wear it 24/7 and wouldn't be without it.
It may not work for everybody but it does for me.
Worth a try... Phil

Hi Iain, my wife has rheumatoid arthritis problems. A few months ago we purchased a hand-held "Bioptron" (light therapy) device. So far, it has helped her a lot. It is also great for a wide range of ailments and health problems so buying one would be an excellent investment, especially since we are not getting any younger. :? :D

It's also great for the whole family.
