For Eric and all - Poorer Little lads

Hi Eric,

If you think you were young when you started (or that was when you became famous perhaps), check me out.
I must have been 12 or something and I can't believe my brother and I are putting up a gig in a cafe', him playing
the saxophone ( he had a crush for saxophone for a while when he was really an exceptionally gifted drummer) and myself on the
guitar.
Can someone figure out the brand of the guitar? I don't remember myself. All I remember is that I had flat wounds and the action was 1/2 inch high
above the fret in the mid neck and the neck due to the horrible curvature of the neck. I had no clue of struss rod then, I don' t even if there was one.
We are playing trhough an old public P.A. system with 2 metal v-shaped speakers on each side of the room and I managed to blow one of them as the
friends in the audience kept telling the technician to raise the sound. We finished the gig with one speaker and the technician swore he would never
lend his system to the "Djinns", that was the name of our full band which means "The Demons".
That was my first electric guitar and I sharpened my teeth on it.
I think the next guitar was an "Hofner" and my last one was an "Echo".

Here you have it all below Eric:

Hi Abel

That guitar looks very much to me like the one on the cover of the French vinyl discs of the early Shadows recordings. Our French friends will probably be able to identify it. All my old records are in the loft - I will have a look later.

Nice pics! I wish I had the nerve to post my old ones. What is holding me back is:-

The dodgy 70's hair styles and clothes!

Being reminded of the guitars I have sold and wish I still had!

Kind regards

Christopher

HI Abel,

The cutaway archtop with one pickup on the scratchplate unit in the first photo was a Rosetti Lucky 7, and the 'solid' body 2 pickup job in the next photo is a Rosetti Solid 7. The others look like Hofners, there's a Hagstrom or Futurama bass, and your Italian EKO copy of a 335 Gibson..

I spy a white Hofner bass and lead plus solid 7

I love the dramatic pose in the second pic, the affect slightly spoiled by someone forgetting to move the bike!

Ah yes. The Rosetti Lucky seven. £8.8.0d from Mamelok's in Manchester. My first guitar.
Happy days.

Hi All,

I don't recall at all the name Rosetti on the guitar, and also it didn't have the 2 S's on each side like Jim's guitar.
It was an all around solid body.

Here is another picture of me with the same guitar: Funny the way I was holding the pick with 3 fingers.
