Just to add to the early sixties gaiety of this thread (you could use words like "gay" and its derivatives back then) - and not TOO far off-topic:

Thanks for this link. I searched for subtitles on the net, but found none.
I'd be curious to know who was playing the music for the film soundtrack...
I have just discovered that this film had been released in France as "L'enquête mystérieuse", but I had not heard of it then !

I remember reading in one of the music papers of the time that The Shadows did not play the theme music on the film soundtrack as they were out of town, and that a group of session musicians who could reproduce identical sounds of The Shadows played on the sound track. I wonder who those session men were, perhaps Vick Flick or Joe Moretti ?

Plus, as someone else mentioned it, the Tornados recorded and released a version of the theme from "Scales Of Justice".

Well that film clip..... I started watching a Stephan Segal film on TV last night after a while gave up and went back to Frightened City.

I don't think it was because Frightened City so good, more that I can't believe they spent all that money making the Segal movie and ended up with that.

However, it was a reminder that back in the good old days, we may not have had terrorism and riots, and maybe a gun being shot within a mile of Piccadilly was scandelous, but there was certainly some very nasty characters around, never mind protection rackets, remember Ted's with bicycle chains in their pockets and slashed cinema seats?

But I never realised that's where the tune came from, thanks for posting it.

Thats it in Jims thread above. :D
We had some great music in the early 60s and some crap and IMHO that was definitely the latter! The middle must have been done at some other time and its almost been nailed in with 6"nails and a lump hammer - its not even in sync when it goes back to the melody!
cheers

A good innings. One of my favourite films, which I've seen several times: North West Frontier (1959).
