Album Cover on "Just About As Good..."

May I ask what I know is a stupid question? It is concerning the album cover on the new (royalty-free) Shads album, "Just About As Good As It Gets." I've put a copy of it in this message, and also a copy of the cover of "The Shadows" which would seem to be the same photo session, just a different pose.

And, if this question was already addressed previously, my apologies. I am a little behind in my reading and I've missed a few posts.

The question is: On the cover of "Just About As Good As It Gets", is that Licorice or Jet?

I really should be able to tell them apart, as they do not really look alike, but the profile shot is deceiving me a little bit. Songs from 1958 to 1961 would -- I thought -- be Jet's era. But to me that looks like Licorice in the photo on "Just About..." as I think Licorice had red hair and Jet had blonde hair, right? (Maybe not?) It is just an unusual photo, I suppose. Even Bruce's guitar is not the usual kind.

What do you think? Thank you for your help.

It's Jet, who appeared on all the tracks on the album.

Bruce's guitar is a Fender Telecaster, which he used briefly before they got matching red guitars (so briefly he had forgotten about it until video evidence surfaced...)

Thank you, George, for identifying Jet and also for the info on Bruce's guitar. I do remember some discussion about Bruce having a guitar that he'd forgotten about...now I understand what everyone was talking about. Thanks again.

... the same instruments as on the Shadows To The Fore EP cover (the Telecaster was supposedly borrowed), but not the sweaters! Jet reverted to his natural hair colour following his departure in May, 1962.

Yes, The Shadows first French album: Dance With The Shadows - a ten inch album, which was actually the U.K. album, The Shadows (their first LP) sans the vocals and Stand Up And Say That.

I am told that the Telecaster guitar came from a guitar shop (as did all the instruments on the pic) for (what is now called) The Photoshoot and if you look closely you can see the remains of the swing tag hanging from the bottom of the guitar.
Or is my mate winding me up - again!?

Bruce always said that the Tele was only borrowed for the photoshoot, but there is archive footage showing him playing (or miming with) it on tv. The tag was used to 'confirm' that it was borrowed from a music shop...

I have some live footage where Bruce is playing a white Telecaster and I'm sure Didier told us that he had a white one at The Olympia when he saw him. The one in the photograph is blonde or 'desert sand' as they call it today (could it have been confused for white?) and I too heard the story that this guitar was borrowed from a shop around the corner from Denmark Street as well as the story about the price tag that appears to be hanging off the guitar, but not the other two. There weren't too many red Stratocasters' with birds eye maple necks hanging on music shop walls in 1961 - were there ?
