That's right, I saw Bruce playing a Tele the first time I saw the Shadows at the Paris Olympia. It must have been in 1961, as Tony and Jet were still there. It wasn't the "Musicorama" radio show (I listened to it at home), but the normal Olympia program, lasting several days, with the Shadows as top of the bill.
Hank was playing the red Strat with maple neck (with no spare guitar on stage as he did later with the Gretsch), Jet was playing a sunburst PB.
There are also a few videos showing Bruce playing a Tele, so if he never owned a Tele, or recorded with one, he certainly played it !
I sometime wonder if the one he used at the Paris Olympia might have been lended by the French Fender importer for promotional purposes. The next time I'll meet Bruce, I'll ask him, just in case he might remember it !...

Was it a white one or was it the blonde one similar to the picture on the first album? The reason I ask is that someone else claims they saw Bruce with a Telecaster - not blonde but white - crikey I'm beginning to sound like an anorak . . . . . .![]()
