Rare clip of Hank playing Double Six in 1970

Postby Moderne » 15 Mar 2012, 19:52

I've just noticed that a clip from the 21st March 1970 edition of "It's Cliff Richard" has recently re-appeared on YouTube. It features Hank recreating his On The Beach solo with his Burns Double Six, as well as singing and playing Peggy Sue. I first saw this a few years ago but then it vanished. Quality not great but a good clip!

I hope it's of interest,

Re: Double Six...

Actually if you look more closely you'll see he's using the BURNS 12 string early prototype that precedes the 'Double Six' proper (as used in the 'Wonderful Life' movie and later). This one was based on the Jazz Guitar body and included the old 'moving block tremelo unit. Have a look at it here in use by 'the man himself'.
