Now which TV shows I wonder? I remember working on at least one series in about 1972 which were made at the Television Theatre on Shepherds Bush Green. To add 'excitement' they were done live (really live) on the Saturday night with Cilla arriving by car through the early evening traffic. Perhaps that's where that clip came from - it would be about the right time.
Also around that time was a Cliff Richard series which often had Hank as a guest - have any of those surfaced? I remember there was a very attractive girl on that series who for at least one sketch had to appear in swimwear. After that, the show's scriptwriter was begged by the crew to think of some way that she could appear like that again!

The Norwegian Wood clip is from a Cilla in Scandinavia TV special (Cliff also recorded an "...in Scandinavia" show featuring quite a funny sketch with Hank as an Olympic athlete asking directions to the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki). MW&F had just sung Lady of the Morning and Hank then joined Cilla for some banter. Cilla said, "That was lovely," to which Hank replied, "You're right!". I believe there are only a handful of Cliff's TV shows featuring Hank still in existence: one from January 1970 on which The Shadows guested, an August Bank Holiday special on which Hank plays Sacha, the slightly surreal Jacques Tati-esque 1971 August Bank Holiday show entitled "Getaway with Cliff" (which also featured MW&F), the Cliff in Scandinavia special (on which Hank plays Something) and the 1974 It's Cliff Richard series (which featured Hank as well as Marvin and Farrar but only in the first episode). There are also two short segments from a March 1970 episode of It's Cliff Richard which I posted a YouTube link to a couple of days ago.
All very interesting if your love of Hank and the Shadows doesn't begin and end with 'that sound'!! Paul Rumbol is the guy who I found all this out from.
Will the DVD of Cilla's TV show material include The Shads playing Jungle Jam and Dance On! (with Cilla singing the lyrics) in 1973, I wonder.
Cheers,
Moderne
