The show this clip comes from, remains one of my favourite, if not THE favourite concert by The Shadows. I cannot mention enough, I still very much welcome a legitimate release of the show.
I remember hearing for the first time the eight numbers, originally broadcasted on television, not long after the 2nd of April, 1980. My father recorded the sound on cassette, by way of putting a stereo microphone in front of the TV speaker. Everyone present in the living room had to be quiet of course, as it wasn't a closed circuit! :D

Great clip !. How come a Shadows concert was shown on Dutch TV in 1980 and yet we never had a chance to see it here in Britain?

We got the half-hour version shown on morning television twice
One with I think FBI cut short at the end and another with the first song cut and the full version of FBI
I have a copy of the full concert but the 1/2 hour version is much better quality
I can't remember which TV company it was but it was shown on ITV so they must have a copy of the full concert

What a pity that ITV and BBC don't show some of the old music programmes/Concerts that they may have gathering dust on the shelves. It would make a change from some of the dross that they put on now. Since the advent of Freeview, with all the channels we can now get, surely we could be offered some music programmes from the past ?.

The Dutch TV company, which holds (or held) the copyright of the show, is Veronica. It was a non-commercial broadcaster at the time, in fact from 1976 till 1995, when it went commercial. Veronica started as an offshore radio station in 1960, which went on for the next fourteen years.

Hi!
The Shadows toured Europe twice in 1980. I guess it was in march I saw them in Konserthuset in Oslo. Later that year they had the "Change of Address"-tour, where Alan Jones was on bass. November 10th they played in Konserthuset in Oslo, and for the second time in my life I saw them live. Bruce used his white stratocaster, and Hank the black one. And what a sound they had on the concerts.

Best regards
Arnulf
