I'm hopefully going to book both nights!

It would be my first year going and I'm looking forward to it! 8-)

Hi just a quick note to any younger shadows fans wanting to attend Shadowmainia. :D
I found out today from the box office that the main event is open to over 12s (as long as they satay away from the bar 8-) ) the Pre-party is strictly over 18s only (so I wont be going to that) .
thought you might like to know cheers Peter

Strange, I know of lads (and possibly lasses) who've attended the Friday evening event when they were many years younger than 18. Maybe Lakeside have started getting strict. It may have been better just to turn up, Peter, without querying it! ;) It's a great event for youngsters as they have always been afforded special consideration at the event. If you've not already contacted Roy and Kathy, the organizers, maybe it would be worth doing so. I imagine they would do everything possible to make sure their event continues to be open to younger Shadows fans who can help to further the legacy of this music.

I'll look out for you at Lakeside, Robson and Peter. You're both good players and obviously have great enthusiasm for the Shads' music.

Hi Justin..It was Roy who said it was over 18s only due to Lakesides ruling. I think I saw the age restictions last year too..If you can find anyway for under 18s to attend I would love to go. If not I will have to wait 5years  before I could go to the pre party..

Maybe they don't want young kids in swigging cups of horlicks or cocoa while the rest of us enjoy a slightly stronger
refreshment!!! These days it could be the other way round- only joking!!!!

Big thanks to Bruce for putting Shadowmania on once again. Having missed out the last few years we will try to get tickets this time and hope to bring over a small party from Denmark; that is if I can get that drummer husband of mine and the rest of the Danish Shads to take a break from rehearsals ;)

Hope to see you there

Cheers

I had big problems last year, because my grandniece was only 12. It was also a problem for The Foottappers, as Tim also was under 18.
It ended with the solution, that she could come, if: "she is well behaved and controlled by you. She must not stray unattended round the room or in front of the stage and she must not go near the bars." That was the words from Lakeside.
Everything went fine. I don't understand their policy. There have been lots of children attending both PreShadowmania and Shadowmania, since I've started to go in 2006.
If they are starting to drink, they can throw them out. :D

This year it is stated on their website for the show. http://www.lakesidecomplex.com/lcc_even ... owmania-19
