Jet Harris' Tribute to Duane Eddy

Postby donna plasky » 11 Apr 2012, 21:58

I came across this video on YouTube...not sure whether this was ever posted on this Board before I joined. If it was, my apologies for the duplication.

Jet's dialogue while introducing the song is really, really funny. He's got the crowd roaring with laughter. This is surely one of the things we will always remember about Jet -- his sense of humour.

Hi Donna,

Below is a link I suggested some time ago (Bass Matters), same tune same band, better quality. In fact it's from Jet's appearance with Marty Wilde and the Wildcats 50th anniversary concert at the London Palladium. One of the best rock and roll concerts I've ever seen, strongly suggest you get the DVD. It features Hank, Brian and Bruce, as well as Marty's daughters Kim and Roxanne Wilde. The bonus for me are the Wildcats, must be one of the best R and R bands on the planet.

Enjoy, regards, Luigi

Dear Luigi: Thank you so much for suggesting that particular video of Jet. It was one that I hadn't seen before. There are so many great parts to that performance -- Jet saying "I don't do smilies," Jet looking up at (and sneering at) Marty's microphone stand, or perhaps the funniest part was when Jet said "Back when I was with Cliff Richard..." and the halleluiah choir sound effect came on. Thanks so much, Luigi.

Best wishes,
Donna
