Hi All, I started ringing at 9, left the mobile on automatic re-dial if engaged, it got through 4 times but was never answered, so at 9.45 I drove over there, and by 10.45 had secured 2 tickets.

What I didn't realise was that seats are not allocated there and then, just the completed slips put in a box for putting through for card payment later in the day when the phones either close or allow the time, so I guess I could still be sitting at the back.

I finally got an email notification come through from Lakeside yesterday that the gig was on, on past experience I would imagine all seats would have been sold by then, but no indication of what seats we have so far.

well my tickets arrived today, to be fair I'm a bit disappointed, having done a 100 mile round trip because I couldn't get through on the phone, and was there well before 11 on Monday, plus there weren't that many booking slips in the box, the table we're on is right at the back.

The box office tells me they were all allocated by time but a lot of tables had been pre booked by Bruce for his friends.

Don't get me wrong I like Bruce, and I like this gig, but if it's true that Bruce has pre-booked a lot of of tables all of which are closest to the front for his friends, then the seats weren't allocated on a first come basis, as advertised, but first come of what was left of the non pre booked tables.

This makes me feel like a second class citizen the attitude as described by Lakeside being, well this is a gig for me and my friends but you can come along and pay if there are any seats left over.

I guess we all have our own experiences of Lakeside! I sure do. It is what it is.

And it is where Bruce likes to holds the event, his event, to do with as he pleases. He puts on who he wants and he invites the guests he wants. Then he throws it open to us, effectively saying "this is the show I'm offering, these are the tables you can sit at and this is the ticket price."

That seems fair to me. It's my choice whether to go or not. :)

I am delighted to see people I know and admire being asked to perform - of all age groups (!) - and I hope it is a great day out for all who decide to go along. It sure should be!

Cheers - Iain

Iain

I fully agree that it's Bruce's gig, but when seats go on sale they should state that all of the tables closest to the stage are not bookable.

The odd thing is that this will be my fourth time, the earliest I've ever booked and the furthest I've been from the stage.

That's Lakeside. It's a shame for newcomers, it really is. I expect nothing of them apart from their willingness to take my money.

I must say that I don´t recognize this. We have visit Shadowmania a couple of times, and got an excellent service. It is not easy to call from Sweden, first to get thruu, then on my school English try to spell my name and adress and what I want. I must say I got and excellent service and understanding from the boxoffice, the hotel and from Kathy and Roy. I don´t think it is expensive. I must say it is much easier to go to Shadowmania than other festivals in other countrys, and often cheaper. I really hope that it is not the last time, and I must say I really respect Bruce for Shadowmania.
