May he rest in peace.

Although I heard the name many times in this website, I am not familiar with his work or recordings, but he seems to
have been the originator of Guitar instrumental in UK.
The videos posted here are quite eloquent on his legacy.
God bless his soul.

Blessings,
Abel

The first time I heard about Bert Weedon, was when Cliff mentioned his main influence, just before he, Hank and Bruce were to sing "All Shook Up", during the 20th anniversary concert at the London Palladium. He meant of course Elvis Presley.
The first time I saw Bert, via the TV screen, was when he contributed to Hank Marvin's Pebble Mill special in November, 1994.

Rest in peace, Bert.

Although he may not have been exactly everybody's favourite player, I think it's true to say Bert, in his unassuming manner, occupied over decades a unique position in British popular guitar music, his philosophy behind "Play In A Day" somehow reflecting the true generosity of spirit of the man, in his desire to make accessible the rudiments of playing technique to as many people as possible. A gentleman, this should be his lasting legacy.

Hi

I was there when this picture was taken. It was at the United States Trade Centre at the Music Show in London. Arbiter, who were Fender agents then, hosted the show there. The Strat that Bert is holding now belongs to a friend of mine, Andy Whelan, who was in Stu Page Band, The B'Eagles and is now in Spirit of Smokie. I had a Music Shop then and brought the guitar back with me especially for him after Hank and given it the once over!!
