In fact Bruce's autobiography, Mike Read's book on The Shadows & The Shadows by Themselves all misspell Quatermasster's Stores as Quartermaster's Stores!

Also, as is often written incorrectly on this site, it was Mike Read who wrote the book on The Shadows, not Mike Reid, he being the bloke on Eastenders!

I've mentioned this in a previous thread, but I think it's worth repeating here.

In the EMI (them again!) Dealers' Master Record Catalogue during the 70s, Deep Purple's "Burn" album was listed for several years as "BUM".

Presumably, the original list was written in long-hand and then mis-read at the type-setting stage.

As far as I remember, it got through at least 2 editions of the catalogue.

Although not a release by any means, there was a rumour in circulation for some years that The Shadows had recorded a tune (late sixties) called Schnoedecon. I have stood in the EMI archive at Hayes (Middlesex) and held the session reference sheet in my own hands. It had been completed in handwriting and the word was definitely "Schmoedown" (as in "Hoedown? Schmoedown!").

FWIW, I believe it to have been a working title for what was eventually released as The Magical Mrs Clamps.
