Nottingham & Barnsley: The Shadowers with Licorice

Postby MeBHank » 25 May 2012, 09:31

Hi folks...

The Shadowers are out on the road again over the next 48 hours! Unfortunately, due to a recent operation Alan Jones is unable to perform with us this weekend (as previously advertised) but we have excellent replacements in Nick Smith and Derek Brown. Of course, a certain Mr Brian "Licorice" Locking will also be showcasing his talents on bass as well as sharing his incredible harmonica playing with us.

Hi J

Congratulations to you and everyone for putting on such a brilliant show, several of us went to see it at Yeovil a few weeks ago and this is one not to be missed!

Hope Alan is now well on the road to recovery.

Best wishes

I stood in For Alan Jones at The Academy Theatre, Birdwell, Barnsley last night. Subject to limitations because of no rehearsal time, the show went very well and was warmly appreciated by the near capacity audience. When Lic was on I was enjoying the show so much from the upstairs wings that I almost forgot my queue to go back on. It was great to see some familiar faces there too. I would recommend anyone to watch and support what has developed in to a terrific and very entertaining group. Thanks for inviting me lads, and get well soon to Alan Jones

Hi, I was at the show at Barnsley on Saturday with my wife. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and value for money, but I think an improvement would be to use Burns guitars as well as Strats for more authenticity. The whole band was brilliant, and it was good to see Licorice.
I hope you return sometime in the not too distant future, my wife and I will certainly attend.
thanks a million, Rover

Great show Justin, but next time do one anywhere but Nottingham(finding venue was murder !!) one point i thought the Moog bass synth was a bit mushy/loud might have sounded better further back from front row though. All the best for the rest of the tour. Malcolm !!
