4SHARED SERVICE ABUSE NOTICE -ANYONE ELSE GET THEM??

Today I got this on e-mail-
Dear Sir/Madam,

"We have received a notification that certain materials you posted on the 4Shared website as described below infringe upon someone else’s copyright:
http://www.4shared.com/audio/uVl-hg8H/
Access to the material complained of has been temporarily disabled or such material has been removed. In addition, the public sharing function for your account has been disabled. For instructions on how to dispute the copyright infringement claim, please read the section titled Counter Notification Requirements below. For instructions on how to re-activate your sharing function, read the section titled Re-activation of the sharing function of your account at the end of this letter.
In accordance with 4shared’s Copyright Policy, to which you are bound by virtue of agreeing to our Terms of Use, your account will be terminated and your access to 4shared services permanently banned following three instances of copyright infringement. Unless you respond by counter notification and successfully dispute the copyright owner’s claim, this will be considered your FIRST instance of infringement under the three-strike policy."

Etc etc etc. it does go on a bit!!!

IS this just spoof mail? Does anyone else get them? I cant see that anything has been removed and access still seems OK.

I received the same notice a few days ago. I opened an account with Box.com.

It appears that my purely amateur Instro version of Lionel Richie's "Hello" (as recorded by The Shads on Moonlight Shadows) offends the sensibilities of his record company who have had it pulled off 4Shared. How Sad is that!!!???

Yes - I received a notice against my personal amateur recording of 'The High and the Mighty' which I posted over 2 years ago

When I replied to 4shared I told them that I could not be bothered with this nonsense and that I had deleted the file.
I also said that I presumed the 'complaint' was due to the title rather than the content.

Their response was along the lines of 'thanks you may continue to use your account' but they did not elaborate on the complaint.

I dont post on the site but use to try and listen but as I told you 4 shared came up on my laptop as a threat
I still cant link to box with your link without signing up so I have left it

A few months ago I had an abuse warning from 4shared about a copy of one page from a book which had been on my account for several year...

I've had no emails from 4shared - however, for some time now whenever I click on any soundfile with a 4shared link I get the following message :-

Task queue failed at step 0: Error #2048

It allows me to download the file but previously it allowed you to play the file.

Any ideas ??
