How sad and wonderful at the same time. Sad to think this may be the last time we get to see an original Shad doing Shads music on stage, but no one in 1960 could have possibly foreseen how much Shadows music the years have brought and that such a wonderful event would be happening as late in our lives as 2012. It's absolutely right for Bruce to say in advance there will be no more Mania's so that the audience can give him (and the others involved) the proper thanks and ovations, and so it doesn't just 'drift' away. There won't be a dry eye in the house.

Dear David M: If you should happen to be in touch with Bruce, could you please tell him how much his fans love him and that we all wish him the best. Selfishly we cannot help but say that we'll miss him dearly as he retires, but at the same time we are very happy for him. Everyone needs to retire from their job at some point and enjoy life without the stress of working. And...I am trying extremely hard to use the proper words to say this...if Bruce is in need of any prayers (as we read between the lines of his announcement), please tell him that the ShadowMusic Community has this covered, we're on the job.

Sad news indeed.
My wife and I will attend, like last year, and we'll be able to thank Bruce for so many years of great musical times and lots of shared emotion. It is perfectly understandable that he should need a rest, now, after giving us so much pleasure and friendliness.
We do hope his health will get better and send him our best wishes

A shame to read this but understandable.
As fans, we have been very well looked after with the Shads tours and all the yearly Shadowmania's in the recent years.
A huge thanks Bruce - and all connected in putting on some great shows!
This one will be very special. So glad I can be there.

Yes definately a sad announcement, but we are very grateful for the experience we have had attending all the previous Shadowmania events. The Geordie Crew will be there as usual and glad that we have the opportunity to thank Bruce in person for the endless enjoyment he has provided for us all over the years. Bruce we salute you.
