Yep, definitely lead and rhythm acoustics, as per the 1963 recording, and speeded up as well!

You are really good detectives. You took one quick look at that video and figured out all the answers to the questions I had, but I wasn't going to ask them so as to not drag it out. I saw the chairs and thought maybe they were for Nivram, but you're right, there's the echo unit on the chair behind Hank. Hank looks kind of distracted; he walked towards his amp a few times, as though he was concerned about it. That was funny but true what you said...that no one is playing an acoustic guitar.

You know what you just taught me? Just because I see amplifiers and cables, that doesn't necessarily mean they are playing live. That used to be my basis for judging/guessing about it being live or miming. Always a dead giveaway when they're holding guitars and there are no amps on stage anywhere.

This was fun. Thanks.

Kind regards,
Donna

You could be right about That Sound George . A walnut leg might be
the Holy Grail or maybe its horse hair in the cushion stuffing that
pads out the vintage sound!!!

 Let's put it on eBay: "Deluxe Meazzi Echo Unit Sound Rack, Fiesta Walnut Finish"

This would be a great question to ask Hank in an interview...I'd love to know some of the crazy make-shift set-ups he had to deal with over the years. I can almost envision stage directors scrambling around, trying to find something appropriate to hold the echo unit that they didn't know about until five minutes before start time.

Kind regards,
Donna
