Hi Micky,

Of course on the early recordings Hank used the drum type echomatic, but it is part of the sound.

The nearest digital unit I've heard to a Meazzi is Charlie's new echo, which should appear later this year,
at a gathering in 2011 people could not tell the difference between Justin Daish's Echomatic and Charlie's
unit..

No rude comments from me, in fact I was on the phone to Ritchy Ritch yesterday about sorting his Meazzis out,
two of which were submerged under 6 inches of water in a flood at his house..

Here's a piccy of a newly re-finished Echomatic:

Great job on the Meazzi, I mentioned that same name once one here and was told off, hope it does not happen to you.

As I once told someone: If Adolf Hitler asked me to repair his Meazzi for him I would
providing he pays for the work!!

I like all the comments but the real hard facts are the Meazzi is where Hank Marvin got his sound from, no one can deny this so love them or hate them, even if you have had a bad or good experiance with a Meazzi they are the Rolls Royce of Hanks sound.

This is why the digital era trys to replicate Meazi's.

I guess I am now in for some rude comments especially off all the know it alls...
Fact...Hank Marvin Fender Statocaster/Vox AC30/Meazzi Echomatic = legend unless you think otherwise?

Sorry MickyD but your statement is not entirely accurate - Hank's trademark sound can be heard on records that pre-date the arrival of his Meazzi and on that evidence I will continue to disagree that the Meazzi is the magic bullet. The Meazzi provided the echo but only enhanced the tone/sound that was there all the time before it arrived.
