The audience at this gig look like they are at a wake rather than a rock & roll concert - miserable or what ? :?

I reckon it's Bryn Haworth on the slide guitar. Definitely Mo Foster on bass.

I've never quite understood the reasoning behind having TWO drummers! Can anyone enlighten me? A bit like having two bass players, I'd have thought. Pointless. By the way, I am guessing that the two drummers in the clip are Graham Jarvis and Clem Cattini...??

Robert Porter's website http://www.cliffrichardsongs.com, as well as the album sleeve, lists the following musicians:

Cliff Richard (vocals), Mo Witham (guitar), Alan Jones (bass), Roger Pope (drums), Alan Hawkshaw (keyboards), Tony Rivers (backing vocals), John Perry (backing vocals)

This was the last track to be recorded for the "Every Face Tells A Story" album, recorded on January the 10th, 1977. All of the other tracks for the album, as well as the non-album B-sides, were recorded in September, 1976. Maybe the line-up for those wasn't available in January, 1977, so other musicians were employed for "My Kinda Life".

Looks like Mo Foster On Bass , i believe he was Cliff Richards bass player At The time.
This is probably around the same time as Alan Jones would have been in Las Vegas as part of the Tom Jones band.
just before he joined the shadows for The 20 Golden greats tour ?

Yes, if you watch the 'Thank You Very Much' video, you can see that this bass player is definitely Mo Foster, as featured in Cliff's band for those shows.

The album, Every Face Tells a Story, is great and personally I have always liked the song My Kinda Life. Brian Bennett and Alan Tarney make up bass and drums for the remainder of the tracks, with the band being different on MKL for the reasons stated. There is a photo in the 1979 edition of Cliff's autobiography, Which One's Cliff?, which seems to be a rehearsal shot from the performance we are discussing!

I never knew why Cliff had two drummers in those days either.

There is a re-vamped version of " My Kinda Life" on a French release only cd, in 1992, with the same title which is worth a listen.

I read somewhere that the audience was made up of some record company execs, which explains their wonderful up-lifting personalties!
