Cliff mimes with his own Strat and tries to emulate the sound of a Gretsch White Falcon!

He was the owner of this guitar, so he had the right to do anything he wanted with it ! :D

When was a Gretsch White Falcon used in Living Doll?
Was it not 'the strat' pre Meazzi?

I thought it was common knowledge and spoken about many times on this site. Perhaps someone else will illuminate...

Extract from an 1987 interview :
Hank : "on Living Doll I used a borrowed **COPY** of a Gretsch White Falcon. On the record it sounds like I'm useing the tremelo arm, but I was actually pressing on the tailpiece to get a wavering effect."

ok, I know the guitar that you mean, not a Gretsch though, there are plenty pictures of Hank using that guitar (the name of which escapes me at the moment). I wasn't aware that he played that on Living Doll. :o

If we're thinking of the Grimshaw SS or SS Deluxe (the white model played by Bruce on the "Cliff" album), I'd love to see the photos of Hank playing it.

For what it's worth, I think the Grimshaw must be the guitar that Hank was referring to in connection with Living Doll.
