Come on be honest, wasn't it easier with a Cassette recorder and a C120 Cassette ?

Sets with Freeview show both stations and programmes.

The programme should also be available on the BBC website afterwards.

I'm not sure how music content on the BBC website is filtered for other countries. Get your friend perhaps to try http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 and see what he can hear now. If similar programmes work, this one should.

I never had any problems to listen to and/or recording of any BBC live or archive programmes from over here. I am looking forward to Monday evening.

Just to say a big thank-you to Iain and Ulrich for your help. It seems that my friend can receive Radio 2 loud and clear !.

I'll be at Playa San Juan in the Alicante area of Spain, and from memory it was not possible to receive the iplayer there last year,

Yes, it's important not to confuse the BBC iPlayer and the BBC website.
That's why I posted the Radio 2 web address. If it works in Germany I hope it will work in Spain.

I remember those. Slightly off-topic, but my father used a C120 cassette to record two broadcasts of "The Cliff Richard & The Shadows Story" in October and November, 1976 on Dutch radio. The tape is quite thin and fragile. We still have almost the entire series on tape and (if I would like to listen to it in the future) should transfer them to a digital format. The interesting thing about the series, is that it features extensive interviews with Cliff, Hank, Bruce and Brian also, conducted by presenter Tom Mulder, who is an avid Cliff/Shadows fan.
