No Keith it's back here safe and sound...

I got back from my visit to the quiet empty space where we used to meet in Great Wyrely
after seeing a man about an amp and rubbing it in about the free
cobs, just after you left..

Image

Roger and Ecca after a couple of pints, they go blurred when they've had a couple!

Ray "Cobs" Marshall in full flow!

Note the aforementioned Vox and Meazzi..

I once had a Gibson 325 and it developed a buzz. No matter how much I tried I could'nt find out what was causing it, in the end I sold it for what it originally cost me to some young buck that was perfectly happy with a bit of distortion and was not looking for the sweet sounds it once produced  The type of guy that you see in the guitar stores hammering away with full distortion and volume playing mindless shred guitar runs
But, he was happy and I was happy and that was that :D
It was a shame really but it just bugged me every time I played it

Same here, it was driving me mad everytime I played it.
It's back at PMT now and will be going to the Gibson techie in Manchester 'on the van'.

Is the buzz when plugged in or not or both. Just a thought.

I think thats the problem with being brought up in the Shadows era, we demand perfect tone and no imperfections whatsoever.
I'm not averse to a bit of distortion but if I want clean, I want it perfectly clean. I hope you get it sorted and not have to do what I did.
I really loved that guitar too but it had to go for the sake of my sanity.

It so p*****d me off that I hadn't lately plugged it in.
I'll see what they say.
I'd checked all the obvious things but certainly wasn't going to take it to bits.

Amanda, thank you for posting those two photos. The one of Ecca and Roger is priceless! "C'mon let's play a song. Flingel Bells, I mean Jingle Bunt, I mean..."

Cheers,
Donna :D
