A few weeks ago, I attended the KPM All-Stars gig in Islington, London. Apart from the fact that it was a great gig, I had the enormous privilege and honour of meeting Alan Hawkshw, Kirsty Hawkshaw (for the first time) and Brian Bennett (for the second). Without doubt one of the most memorable evenings of my life. So far...

As you can see, in keeping with the name of one of Alan's bands, I had my hair cut especially for the occasion! For some reason, my mum and dad don't like it. Still, it'll grow again. I hope...

Dear Chris: I wanted to thank you for a suggestion you gave me a few weeks ago. You suggested that I might like to buy a copy of Alan Hawkshaw's book, The Champ - The Hawk Talks. I just ordered a copy today, from Alan's website: http://www.alanhawkshaw.com/

It was £12.99 + Shipping. Since it is sold out on Amazon.co, I feel lucky to have found an available copy.

Amazon did seem to have a copy of Alan's CD "MoHawk" which has a re-release date of 23 August 2012. I bought a copy of the older CD from Leo's Den a while ago, but it's nice to see it was reissued.

Thank you, Chris, for your suggestion about the book. I did not know that Alan had written one.

Yes, indeed he has, and it's a great read! You will enjoy it I am sure.

It shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of Mo'Hawk - I am sure there are copies available on eBay. It is, again, fantastic and if you like the music from this era (and library music in general) then this album is ESSENTIAL listening!

The Hawk is a really great guy and tells some very funny stories.
