Access All Areas - Bruce Welch.

Whilst the subject of The Shadows on Radio is fresh in our minds, can anyone recall a programme broadcast on Talksport about 15-20 years ago. Entitled "Access All Areas", it was presented by Nicky Horne and featured Bruce Welch, talking in unusually explicit detail, about the dispute between himself and Hank. I used to have a copy of it on good old fashioned cassette tape , but it got jammed in the tape deck of one of my former cars and thus became lost.

That reminds me...

One of my friends swears blind that he saw a dual (or duel?!!) interview with Hank and Bruce in one of the music papers during the 1990s - either NME or Melody Maker. It was obviously after the split and I gather that Bruce was again quite forthright in his views.

There is an interview with Bruce (I think on TalkSport) but from about five years ago. I think I may have it somewhere...

Chris, I believe from the dark recesses of my mind that was Record Collector magazine, but I could be wrong, maybe Jim N or George G will know.

Yes, I'm fairly certain it was Record Collector - Rob B may have had something to do with it. I'll see if I can locate my copy...

Yep definitely Record Collector. It made the subsequent reunion all the more remarkable.

Mark, I just listened to Hank's interview and will listen to Bruce's later. They are both new to me. Thank you for the links.

Thanks for the links. Obvouisly both weren't very optimistic at this time about reforming the Shadows, fortunatly they did it a few years later !
