I should of mentioned, the Guitar is a Fender Master Built ( one of fifty in the world) Buddy Holly Stratocaster.............Bruce liked it but it was already sold !...

FENDER READ OUT
Fender Buddy Holly Tribute Strat Masterbuilt Dennis Galuszka

Limited to 50 Pieces Globally! To this day, it is hard to look at a Fender® Stratocaster® guitar and not thhink of Buddy Holly. His musical legacy remains unparralleled, but this impact and contribution to launching the Stratocaster® will always remain part of Fender®'s history. He burst onto the music scene with a 1955 Stratocaster® and wrote most of his earliest hits on that guitar. Then, it was stolen. He bought another 1955 Stratocaster®. It too was stolen. That original guitar has now been painstakingly reproduced using the original materials, pickup, wood, paint, scheme, along with all the nicks and dings from Buddy's original, and offered as a special 50 piece tribute to one of rock & roll pioneers.

The master built Stratocaster comes with a 2-disc set of Buddy's gold records, and a signed certificate by Buddy's widow, Maria Elena Holly. There is also a very special DVD interview with Maria Elena that makes sure that makes this unique package not only a great tribute guitar, but also documents a beautiful and tragic love story.

Included:
Maria Elena signed certificate
DVD - interview with Maria Elena
2- disc set of Buddy Holly's Gold Records

Specifications:

Body - Hand Selected off Center ash
Finish - Nitrocellulose Lacquer/Two Tone Sunburst
Neck - Quarter Sawn Maple
Neck Frets - Vintage
Hardware - Vintage Nickle
Bridge - Vintage Synchronized Tremolo
Pickups - 1954 Stratocaster
Wiring - Vintage Strat

Dear Derek: Thank you for posting that wonderful photo of Bruce. So nice to see a recent photo of him, and looking so well as you said. I also enjoyed seeing the "role reversal" aspect of the guitar photo. There are some of us who look at a Fender HBM Reissue Guitar and feel the excitement. Bruce seems to feel that way about the Buddy Holly Reissue Guitar. Cool. 8-)

Kind regards,
Donna

Yes, a very nice picture of Bruce, but that 'blurb' about the guitar just reinforces my belief that Fender have lost the plot!
and at what price?

Seeing Buddy Holly with a Strat was one of the first reasons which pushed Hank to chose it and have it ordered by Cliff. He also thought that James Burton used one, it's only later that he discovered he was in fact using a Tele with very light stings !

HI! Is the Buddy Holly Strat based on the guitar he played the last night of his life? I dont think the guitar was on the plane with him, but I seem to remember that they also found the plecter he used the night,
attached to the scratchplate. I think the guitar today in on a museum in the US! Info someone...?
