The three laser discs in question: "Thank You Very Much", "Together 1984" and "At Their Very Best Live", were they actually released in the year which is printed on the back cover, so 1979 for the first, 1984 for the second and 1989 for the third? If so, then the "Thank You Very Much" laser disc predates the very first CD releases of Cliff Richard and/or The Shadows.

Laserdiscs came in 2 versions,

CAV (Constant Angular Velocity) and CLV (Constant Linear Velocity)

CAV supported freeze frame - variable speed play , reverse play and other "Trick" functions. 30 mins per side.

CLV was long play used mainly for movies 60 mins per side

I have a Pioneer CLD-925 which was the top range one which would turn the disc automatically
and had freeze frame and trick modes using a digital frame store circuit..

I have the Star wars NTSC THX boxed set approved by Lucasfilm and excellent quality.

George Lucas would not allow Star Wars to be released on DVD for sometime after it's launch citing Quality issues.
