Bert Weedon advocated baby oil on a chamois leather before and after each guitar playing session and I believe Ian McCutchon does the same.

Snale Ppace Slim, The Hamsters, allways used WD40.

Sadly they've now packed it in, but he would regularly spray his stings throughout a gig, of course the down side is the smell and the taste if you have a packet of crisps mid gig

I'm not sure if it was the exact same product but I used it when I played in the band in the eighties, I only sprayed it on for the first few numbers til I got warmed up, but on reflection, it really is just a waste of money. If the guitar is clean and well polished, you dont need it. I saw it advertised and thought I'd try it, I only used one can then gave up on it

I have always found that if you wipe your strings immediately after playing you don't need any string cleaner.
I usually wipe the neck at the same time.

O.K. thanks for your thoughts....i've tried talc (kills your strings fast) i usually use a piece of kitchen roll and put a touch of wd 40 on to just lubricate the strings. Hence the qusetion about the Finger Ease, was hoping i could fly around at 100 mph
I'll stick with the wd 40 for a while
