Dave, my dear chap...I know that you weren't looking for any ego gratification. Yes, i'm sure that Daniel is a brilliant natural talent (which he is) & I don't doubt that he works hard too. I was just apologising for my gaffe (refs Phil) & (despite what you say) playing with you in the splendid Past Masters has undoubtedly helped with Daniel's chosen musical path. Yes...as you say....lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, drums....(keyboards????? not mentioned.... but I bet he dabbles!! LOL).Oh yes & he's also an excellent singer!! Way to go Danny!!!

Bests....Rob :D

Don't worry Rob, typical journalistic gaffe - absent of all of the facts, at least you didn't publish any pictures of me topless . . . . . . . .

I would like to add my congratulations to Daniel and of course he deserves all the credit for the hard work that he has put in. That resulted in the two great performances on Saturday.
But Daniel would be the first to agree that there is one man who deserves lots of credit and praise for the help he gave Daniel and without who's help, who knows how Daniel would have got into music.
Of course I am referring to Dave Richmond. Daniels Godfather.
Dave virtually taught Daniel Guitar to start him off.
He would have Daniel practice the tunes with either the lights off or with his eyes shut so that he would know where the notes were without having to look.

Most of you will have have seen David driving Daniel around to the Shads clubs, but then blending into the background not looking for any praise for himself.

He must have been the proudest person at Shadowmania (Apart from Daniels Mum & Dad of course) and I'm quite sure more than the odd tear flowed.

So Congratulations to Daniel but also to Dave Richmond and he deserves to be proud of his Godson.

Many thanks for that Steve. Well said indeed. Many of us (myself included) simply wouldn't have known that background. I have to say too that (IMHO) Tim, Joel and Craig (+ Daniel) were absolutely superb too. I loved the Foot Tappers' set. So much fine music - so many fantastic players. Well done to everyone. Plus, if Bruce really has called it a day...then he went out still at the top of his form - with his rhythm playing and singing still being absolutely top class. Here endeth the lesson!

Thanks Steve for mentioning Dave Richmond who from a long time back was bringing the very young Daniel many miles to play with us at Warwick club. That long-term commitment has been exceptional. He saw an interest and a talent and he nurtured it. Well played Mr R.
