DVD problem......

Postby ecca » 17 Sep 2012, 18:15

Experts, help please.
I want to use some scenes from a DVD in one of my epics but I can't get them to play.
I put them into Sony Vegas but it won't play them.
I've tried copying them onto the hard disc and then renaming them as avi files but still they won't play.
Anyone with a solution ?

You'll need first to "rip" the DVD to get its content in the avi format. Look for DVD ripper softwares.

Hi Ecca
Were you trying to import the VOB files direct from the DVD? Vegas doesn't like them but Adobe Premiere will import them, although its a bit hit and miss. You'll have to rip the DVD to a compatible file as Didier mentioned. DVD Fab or Handbrake will do the job. I used Handbrake to rip a DVD clip today, you can then save to an m4v or mkv file. m4v would be your better option for editing.
