Thank you so much for everyone who has posted clips from this fabulous event. It's the next best thing to being there.

Could you all be a little patient please? The band have simply decided they want to see the videos first - a perfectly reasonable request.

In order to get videos up as soon as possible Phil and I concentrated on those who did not make such a request, so The Shadowers got put to the back of the queue. I have started working on their set, they've seen a few, and I will hopefully finish today.

If perhaps not all get made public, well, it's not the end of the world is it!

Thanks for clearing up the Shadowers question, Gillian.

PS - I have removed some of the recent comments which were based on speculation not fact

Gillian and Phil
An impressive amount of work and effort you have put into the making of the videos and making them available - much appreciated for us that couldn't be there. Hat's off - and thanks much :D

Erik

NB. I could have sworn I saw "National Provencial Samba" earlier on one of your channels, but can't find it now - maybe it was something I have dreamt?

I think National Provincial Samba was in Bruce's set from 2011? I could be wrong though... I can barely remember last week let alone last year!!!!

[quote]By reading the thread I would imagine that The Shadowers have decided they don't want their performance made available. Whether others agree or not is beside the point. It's their performance and their copyright

Although I've read Gillian's subsequent post, I'm not quite sure that the above statement is correct.
The concert is promoted by BWML and it is the promoter who gives the right to access for photo's or video of his event. I once spoke to Bruce about this in the early 2000's when I did some videos of the event as I was aware that The Rapiers prohibit the use of recordings at their concerts, so I asked the question. Bruce said that there were no restrictions or special treatment of any of the bands and we (the public) were free to record, it was almost a condition of the bands appearing that they knew that video or sound recording would almost certainly be taking place.

Giving bands an opportunity to see what was recorded before making it public, is a courtesy but not a copyright issue imho. I simply draw your attention to the BBC tapes and ask who has the say in this long protracted matter? Not the band, the band were paid a fee to perform just as the bands at SM are/were.
