Richard Hawley

At his Glasgow gig in the legendary Barrowland last night. Great songs, fabulous band (last seen backing Duane Eddy!) and a guitar fan's dream - Six different guitars for the first six songs of the set. Shez Sheridan toting a Burns Double Six for many of the numbers.

As I said elsewhere, he is a great Shadows fan, so I don't think he was actually bored. Being a talented and popular musician doesn't automatically make you a good radio presenter...

He delivered a barbed comment on Friday, only a few songs in: pointing to one side of the hall, he said "These people are really rich - they pay £25 for a ticket and then talk all the time..."

He sounds just like Dave Robbo when he talks :D

That's because we're both from Sheffield and have a policy of telling it how it is - better than the mealy mouthed option I'd say. ;)

Indeed.

The 'talkers' were, thankfully, in the minority; most folks were there for the gig. RH admitted he was, to paraphrase, slightly nervous at the prospect of appearing at such a legendary venue, but he shouldn't have worried, the crowd were with him from the off.

Bruce has sent a message to thank Richard Hawley for his part in the program, saying how much he enjoyed it. Neil (another Sheffield-er )
