Ivo - I don't think you'd get it early in the shops - it wouldn't be on display and most wouldn't sell it to you if they had it. I think that the online retailers can post it early as it may take up to 5 days to arrive. I always find HMV very quick, and have started to use them more and more as a result, whereas I always used to use play.com, who seem to be a bit slower off the mark.
Particularly with the UK post strikes this week, I think that HMV probably posted as early as possible (I ordered mine on Tuesday of this week and it came yesterday).

No sign of my Amazon copy, but Mr. J Bassist and I saw the screening at the Odeon last night and it looked great. We even had some Cliffettes clapping after every song...

I went along to the Odeon myself and it was great - cliff & the shads even recorded a special message before the show. The great thing about this was that my dad had been unwell and unable to go and see the show in Belfast - and he was really disappointed as he had never seen Cliff & the Shads together - so when this came up I surprised him with tickets. He loved it - and it really made up for not seeing the actual show - so am all pleased now, despite being a bit gutted when he wasn't able to make it in September!

Mind you, this tour, and associated purchases, has cost me a fortune!! worth every penny though. and I think that the DVD has been very nicely shot and just captures the shows perfectly.

Bernie

PS - George - we had some of the cliffettes clapping as well (which is fair enough - as long as they didn't stand up in front of me) - but it took the biscuit when one lady took out her camera and starting taking photos!

Yes, George and I both thought that they all excelled themselves with this one  - really looking forward to getting the DVD but now I need to get a 50" wide screen High Def. TV with studio surround sound and all the other "bells & whistles" otherwise home viewings of the DVD won't compare to last night at the Odeon!

Oh yes, as well as the Cliffettes who clapped after nearly every number we also had some folk behind us who insisted on tapping/clapping along in many numbers BUT always just off the off-beat -aaaarrrrgggghh

Many DVD's can be made codefree without any problems, as it is only a software matter. The solution for many models is here! http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks?dvdpl ... 90&hits=50

Just watched mine all through. Initial thoughts are that it is well edited; I was worried that it might have been a rush job. However I think that both Wonderful Land and Apache, although played well, are played too fast. Good picture and 5.1 sound though.

I remember someone getting slaughtered for saying that after he'd come back from the show. ;)

Ordered mine from Play.com :D just hope that it wasn't recorded too near to the beginning of the tour, by the time they got to Glasgow, they were flying.
