It was a track on Bert's album King Size Guitar (Top Rank BUY 026) issued June 1960, and backed with Lonely Guitar on Top Rank single JAR 415, issued July 1960.

The stereo version of Apache by the John Spence orchestra on the recent Jerry Lordan CD "All My Own Work" is pretty impressive - and highly indicative of how the demo must have sounded. Every contemporary recording of Apache which wasn't a copy of The Shadows' version (essentially, those by Bert Weedon, Johnny Spence and Jorgen Ingmann) are very similar to each other and must be a representation of how Jerry wrote it.

Jim has clearly lost the plot and is replying to his own posts, even when he has nothing to add...

How on Earth did that happen? I was using my netbook whilst watching "Law And Order" on TV. Clearly wasn't paying enough attention...
