From what I can remember, there was an extra NME snippet to the effect that Bruce briefly left the room and returned with "two rhythm guitars", one of which he handed to Hank. I recall that it continued along the lines that they then performed a version of Foot Tapper, using the two "rhythm" guitars, with Brian B and Brian L "vocally simulating" the drums and bass parts.
One day, I shall get along to the newspaper archive at Hendon and do some 1961-1964 research on NME and Melody Maker.
