New Shadows books and more, free download

Postby malcolmc7 » 28 Oct 2012, 22:31

The following four items which I hope will be of interest to forum members will be published on Malcolm Campbell's Shadows Website on Monday 29 October:

The Shadows On Record: EPs from The UK: e-book. Format: A4 pdf, 267 pages.
An illustrated survey of all 60 UK EPs from The Shadows with and without Cliff Richard.

The Shadows On Record: EPs from France, Portugal and Spain: e-book. Format: A4 pdf, 299 pages.
An illustrated survey of the 70 Shadows EPs released in countries where the format was of major importance and the single of little or no significance.

For a fuller indication of coverage please refer to the back cover images provided online.
The files may be downloaded free of charge. There will be no hard copy of either book.

In addition, there will be two richly illustrated features, similarly formatted:
Jim Nugent, Shadows' LPs 1961-1972
Jim's take on every UK album from The Shadows to Mustang with comment on the music, cover artwork and choice of material for compilations.

Malcolm Campbell, The Shadows In Pictures On EPs Worldwide
Taking the UK issues as a starting-point, this review classifies and furnishes images of the cover shots representing the group's various line-ups, together with the various silhouettes, on 60s EPs worldwide.

Best wishes

Hi Malcolm
Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful work. I own two of your books that I bought from Leo's Den previously but will let our club members know about the PDF downloads and have included a link to your website on our club's website too. Thanks again.
Best wishes

Thank you for that, Malcolm. I absolutely loved reading Jim Nugent's Shadows' LPs 1961-1972 today, a part of it this morning, and finished it up tonight. It inspired me to listen on my iPod to All Day, The Breeze and I, It's Been a Blue Day, It's a Man's World, The Miracle and Santa Ana while walking my dog this morning - and absolutely making my day! I must have been truly primed to hear these tracks again, since they just brought me enormous joy. So, thanks for that, Malcolm and Jim! I look forward to checking out the rest of the stuff on your great site, probably this weekend.
