That is not what I mean. The 3 CD box, I referred to above, for instance includes the Cliff Richard & The Shadows track "Left Out Again". This one had also been issued in 2001 on the '2 on 1' "Me And My Shadows/Listen To Cliff!" CD, but in shortened form in order to fit both albums on a single CD. The sound mix of the "Me And My Shadows" tracks on the 2001 CD was in true stereo. The very same shortened version of "Left Out Again" has been issued on the 3 CD box, but not in true stereo, but in mono. As no mono mix of this shortened version exists, the stereo channels of the stereo mix have been taken together, resulting in a contrived mono mix. Anyone with a little audio software on their personal computer, is able to create a sound file of an existing CD track and then save the sound file in a mono format. This exercise has been done with most tracks on the 3 CD box, hence my question if this was also done on the new 2 CD set, Jay started this thread about.
