I use Audition and you can hear the effects you use while you record live.

Audition 3 has the live feature. " Audition 1.5 doesn't do live effects, only version 3."

Are there others ? (and what are their pro's and con's etc )

Thanks in advance regards.

Audition is not freeware David. A good multitracker but not a free one. Please don't use cracked software--causes all sorts of problems There is one particular site which both Eric and I know about and you can get whatever you require--no questions asked. Don't go there.

Page through the lists of stuff on Gersic--not just the pick of the day but the whole catologue. http://plugins.gersic.com/

And this site http://www.pluginboutique.com/

And I think this one I already posted http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/

I happen to know this developer and highly recommend his VST modules. In particular his new vintage revérb that possible would fit-in with our type of music. Sean, the guy's firstname, is known as one of a only a handful DSP developers who are knowledgable in the field of effects with an excellent track record. His main speciality is reverbs.

Enjoy!

eTap2 VST is available in two flavours. The first build is what most people are using. The build 2 also available from my site is with an addition that makes the guitar stands-out in stereo more like its done by Peter Korving. The adjustments are more complex.

There is a 3e version upcoming that includes also reverb. The availbility is presently scheduled behind the eTap2hw activities. (eTap2hw is the hardware version available as a DIY kit).

There are no plans yet for a 64bit version although a new compiler seems to support that. I need to look into that when time permits. The standard compiler was updated a couple of months ago so all is intentional ;)
