Past Masters

Hello all, went to see Past Masters last night at the Acorn Theater in Worksop.Wow what a night these guys get better every time you see them. The show was called Lets Rock The Jukebox and they really did that. From start to finish 7. 30 till 10.30 with a short break for some drinks and Phillisan; they played non stop. The sound was unbeatable everything they played was The Sound for the song. One of the high lites for me was The Gambler sung by that rhythm guitar extrodinare Mal Towndrow Perfection. Jock returned great voice from over the border, Derek played a good strong bass line, loved the sound of his bass, Danny was on drums, that guy can do anything.Mick Batty blew up a storm with all his various instruments, another guest who did a brilliant Billy Fury Adrian Fountain played key board and guitar. And front man Dave Robbo Robinson played many of his guitars from his collection and a nice sounding Fender Jazzmaster. And not to forget Joy who did a sterling job with the light show. Cant praise this band enough if you haven't seen them its worth the trip ware ever you live.Cheers Neil :D :D

Thanks Neil, pleased you enjoyed it. The show was our special tribute to many of our deceased heroes and we call it 'Rockin' At The Pearly Gates' under the LET'S ROCK THE JUKEBOX banner which we are known for. We do it this time of year purposely around the anniversary of Buddy Holly's death remembering him and his two colleagues Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper along with other rock and roll greats such as Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Billy Fury, Eddie Cochran etc etc. I made a point of including a Krewcats tune in memory of Big Jim Sullivan and this year we had Andy Williams and Davy Jones amongst those of whom we payed homage.
It was a great night and there were quite a few friends and musicians In the audience including Alan Jones, with whom I had a nice chat at the end of the night. 8-)
