shadows tribute evening

Postby geoff1711 » 06 Feb 2013, 21:48

Hi All

last year we discussed the possibility of this.

I've had a discusion with Inn On The Lake Cobham in Kent, they put on a variety of tribute evenings generally disco with the tribute act plus 3 course dinner from 7.30 to 1 for £29.00 per head.

Around 300 seats

The broad outline I've discussed would be 2 tribute acts plus maybe some form of open mic plus disco.

I also discussed the idea of a party night the night previous which they could accomodate, hotel charges around £70 per room.

Obviously we would need the tribute acts and what they charge woud have a bearing on the ticket price.

so:
1) would you be interested?
2) which tributes would you like to see?
3) could those acts forward their contact details?
4) what time of year would suit best?
5) would tributes be preparred to travel to Kent?

1) would you be interested?

Yes, of course.

2) which tributes would you like to see?

I'd leave that up to you, but if you could get the Rapiers...

3) could those acts forward their contact details?

Pass.

4) what time of year would suit best?

September!

5) would tributes be prepared to travel to Kent?

Dunno, but I would.

Thanks Jim

I'm prepared to get this rolling but would like some feed back as to whether our community would support the event.

And also would any of our members who may have been a part of the band object to it?

Travel to Kent to see Jim Nugent? Hmmm...

Seriously, if I was considering it, I'd need a wee bit more info. - location, transport, local hotel accommodation. And of course an idea of the bands. Not too struck on the idea of an open mic session as part of the main event. I'd think that might be better as part of the 'party night'. One of the great things about Shadowmania was the general mixing and chatting with like-minded individuals.

The Rapiers would be a plus.

My 2p.

George

the venue is a hotel, a touch faded glory maybe, but comfortable enough, on the main A2 out of London, around 10 miles from Ebbsfleet high speed london link into St Pancras.

As for who's on the bill this is at planning and until there is an indication of interest, dates, costs and availablity of bands and venue.......

The open mic was only a suggestion

Thanks, Geoff. I don't suppose that's any more problematic for a traveller from Scotland than Lakeside...
