Great shame, remember seeing them live many years ago.

It's always sad to hear of a fellow musician passing on, especially one who was a part of our young lives. RIP Rick.

Champion of the 'Tottenham Sound', it's no age to go, really, but we are losing so many from the great period now. I still treasure my copy of Session With The Dave Clark Five, a remarkably mature album for its time in the context of the hit singles.

Very Sad News .
The Bass lines on the Dave Clark Five recordings always had that heavy compressed hollow thud that
blended well and helped create that "Tottenham Sound"
Rick was seen quite often with a Burns Split Sound six string bass noteably in a film clip taken in Lansdowne
Studio playing " Having A Wild Weekend" round about 1965 I think?

The 1965 film Catch Us If You Can, featuring the DC5, was released in the US under the title Having A Wild Weekend.

Sad news indeed.

DC5 recorded some gritty instrumentals with sax and guitar as lead instruments. More Duane Eddy sounding than Shadows but decent music.
